Expand your network of leaders, entrepreneurs and artisans!
The Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce invites you to our first Women Leaders in Business event of the year! Join us Thursday, May 23 at Indigo + Violet Studio to connect with local women leaders, entrepreneurs and artisans.
Did you know that more than 55% of GRCC member businesses are women-owned? This event offers a great opportunity to strengthen your ties to this dynamic, diverse, and powerful segment of the Ravenswood community.
Attendees will enjoy small bites from Café Más, the neighborhood’s newest vegan and culinary event space, and Penelope’s Vegan Taqueria as well as craft mocktail tastings from Ravenswood’s up-and-coming mobile bartending company Chuchaqui Cocktails. We’ll also be featuring pours of Pink Boots Society’s 2024 brew release, Riveting Rouge, provided by Dovetail Brewery.
Guests will also have the opportunity to get crafty! There will be a mini wall hanging station complete with yarn and brass rings to make and take home as a memento.
Tickets include admission, small bites, and refreshments. Registration closes at noon on Tuesday, May 21st. A limited number of tickets are available.

About Chuchaqui Cocktails
My name is Gabriela Medina, but you can call me Gabi. I am a first-generation Latina born in Ecuador, but I grew up in Maryland, dreaming of working in the film industry. However, after some detours and outlandish decisions, I ended up in Chicago. I got work in restaurants and on film sets. Four years later, all of that came to a stretching halt thanks to a global pandemic. So, with plenty of time on my hands, I indulged in my cocktail hobby and shaped my day around creating garnishes and attempting new recipes.
Fast forward to today. I started Chuchaqui with the explicit goal of celebrating Latin American spirits and contributions to the (spirit) world at large. For example, did you know that Ecuador distills its own agave spirit? It’s called Miske and if I get my way, you’ll be hearing more about it soon.

About Café Más & Penelope’s
Café Más, the latest vegan venture under husband-and-wife duo Chef Juan Ramirez and Paloma Ramirez of Penelope’s Vegan Taqueria, introduces a novel concept in the Lincoln Square/Ravenswood neighborhood. This plant-based café seats 20 indoors and 15+ in its upcoming outdoor patio, operates seven days a week and is influenced by Modern Mexican culture in Mexico City. Café Más offers a vegan menu featuring specialty coffee drinks, sandwiches, pastries, and more.
Penelope’s is Chicago’s first plant-based taqueria in Chicago’s North Side neighborhood offering authentic plant-based Mexican cuisine. Penelope’s focus is tacos and street-style Mexican food.

About Pink Boots Society
Pink Boots Society aims to assist, inspire and encourage women and non-binary individuals in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry to advance their careers through education.
We are the movers and shakers making fermented and alcoholic beverages with the highest possible quality. We are the women and non-binary individuals that own the companies, package the product, design the labels, serve the drinks, write about our industry – and just about everything in between. Most importantly, we teach each other what we know through our own seminar programs, and we help each other advance both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house careers by raising money for educational scholarships.
