Special Service Area #31 – Servicing areas on Clark, Damen, Lawrence, Montrose, Wilson and along the Ravenswood corridor. Lightwriters Neon is one of the most exciting businesses you’ll visit! They offer not only a public-facing art space, but also classes, private lessons, bench rental, and custom design for neon enthusiasts of all levels. In their 2,800sf teaching studio they honor the tradition of this rare craft, while pushing the medium into the realm of fine art and beyond. Stop in during RAW for demos, learn about the history and science of neon, and see their current gallery show.
The fun doesn’t stop there – Each day of RAW, Lightwriters Neon will be offering 4 free first-come first-served silly straw workshops! Bend and take home your own glass silly straw. These hour-long classes will be on Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm and 4:00pm and are for adults 18 and older, or teenagers 12+ if accompanied by an adult. Each class will fit 6 people each and are first-come first-served. Make sure to come early to secure your spot and peruse their gallery until class time!
