A new sculpture garden is coming to Ravenswood! The Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) and SSA #31 are seeking community input on a sculpture garden and permanent “ArtWalk” in the historic Ravenswood Industrial Corridor. This first wave of public art will provide a foundation on which we hope to build for years to come. For 2021, we’ve marked $60,000 for sculptures selected by the Ravenswood community. Help us choose which pieces should become a part of our neighborhood by casting your vote in the Ravenswood Sculpture Garden survey.
This survey closes on March 26th, 2021.
Seeding a Sculpture Garden in Ravenswood
GRCC issued a call for proposals from artists at the end of 2020. Since then, our staff and the SSA Commission have been working hard in-review. We received an impressive amount of entries for consideration from artists near and far. Proposals came from here in the Industrial Corridor, around the city, across the Midwest, and from as far away as Germany! We are incredibly grateful to all of the artists who submitted their work for consideration.
Using feedback from our survey, GRCC will collaborate with a panel of local artists and gallery owners for final review. With their help and curation experience, alongside input from residents, we can ensure the chosen sculptures compliment and highlight our vibrant community.
