Mulch Madness Returns to Ravenswood

This fall, the Ravenswood Neighbors Association (RNA) is bringing Mulch Madness back to Begyle Brewing! Residents who donate bagged leaves earn a free beer at the Begyle taproom (1800 W Cuyler Ave) on Saturday, November 4, from 2-5pm. RNA is partnering with Montrose Metra Community Gardens and their new community composting program to create mulch that will support local native gardens.

At Mulch Madness, neighbors can learn about tree and plant care from an ISA Certified Arborist with Kramer Tree Specialists. The fun concludes with a group toast to the harvest season.

To qualify for a free beer, participants must email RNA a picture of their bagged leaves, along with the names of those who will attend on November 4. Send your pictures to ravenswoodneighbors@gmail.com. After submitting, take your bagged leaves to the drop zone at Sunnyside and Ravenswood Ave, on the west side of the train tracks. RNA is accepting bagged leaves from Saturday, October 28 through Friday, November 17.

Ravenswood Neighbors Association hosted the inaugural Mulch Madness event in 2022. That fall, neighbors donated over 200 bags of leaves to the cause! To learn more about RNA and the excellent work they do in our community, visit www.myravenswoodneighbors.org.
