Every business needs a website. Small businesses don’t always have the funds to hire a professional to design and develop the website of their dreams. DIY platforms abound, but how can you be sure your site and the content therein is useable by folks who use screenreaders, are colorblind, or even just have trouble with technology? Luckily, the Americans with Disabilities Act gives us some guidance. Join us at Roundabout for training that introduces design best practices for making your website accessible to as many humans as possible.
Led by Andi Mints Gilreath of Roundabout, we will examine 9 areas of web design to focus on to make your site more accessible. By the end of the afternoon, participants will walk away with simple edits to make their website more accessible.
Tickets include admission, sandwiches from Jersey Mike’s, and entry into a door prize raffle to win gift cards to Ravensgoods and Lucila’s Alfajores. Registration closes at noon on Wednesday, April 24th. This event is presented by the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce and Roundabout.
About Our Speaker
Andi Mints
I’m a brand designer with a passion for thoughtful branding. In my studio, we believe brands should tell meaningful stories. We also believe these stories start with relationships. Getting to the heart of the brand is the most rewarding part of the process—the rest flows from there. From major global brands to local tech startups and a few non-profits in between, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a variety of brands, each in different stages of brand readiness. I’ve been a key part of branding and rebranding small businesses and startups. No matter the brand, there’s a story to be told (or better told) and I relish getting to tell it well.Presented by:
