A letter from the Executive Director at the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce:
To our GRCC members and neighbors,
I’m writing today to share that Megan Bunimovich, GRCC’s founding Executive Director, has stepped down after 12 years. Over that time, her accomplishments are many and their impact has been felt across Ravenswood. Most notably, she led the Ravenswood Community Council in establishing the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce, which is about to celebrate 10 years serving local small businesses.
I first met Megan in 2014, when she and the Ravenswood Community Council brought me on to help revitalize Ravenswood ArtWalk. I’d never worked for someone like her. A big dreamer who made bold moves. A cunning strategist guided by a deep sense of fairmindedness and obligation to community. She challenged everyone on her team to accomplish more than we might have believed possible. And to push further each year. Everyone who worked for her was constantly challenged. And we all constantly grew.
Megan also always found “good eggs.” Over the decade I worked alongside her, I got to work with and become friends with some of the most genuinely good people you’ll ever meet.
As Megan begins to enjoy some well-earned time with her family, it’s time to introduce you to our new Executive Director… me.
Ravenswood’s worst-kept secret is out! We’ve been preparing for this for some time and it’s now official. I’m incredibly thankful to our Board of Directors and our Executive Committee for their support, and to Megan for her mentorship and guidance the last ten years. The sense of community around this organization is truly special and I’m honored to be tasked with helping it grow.
Thanks to every GRCC member reading this for your continued support. You are that community that our team is so passionate about. And if you haven’t met that team yet, you should come out to an event soon. They’re good eggs.
See you around the neighborhood,
Gene Wagendorf III | Executive Director
