We’re going to need a bigger boat. Every October, Ravenswood undergoes a chilling transformation–and we’re not just talking about the drop in temperature. As Halloween approaches, our otherwise good-natured, storybook neighborhood turns into a spine-tingling destination for spooky events and activities.
Scared? You shouldn’t be! We’ve scoped out the haunted happenings around Ravenswood and created this gruesome guide to getting your freak on this Halloween season.
October 28: The Ravenswood Costume Crawl
It’s alive….it’s aliiiiiive! Ready or not, the Ravenswood Costume Crawl is back–and this time it’s personal. Eat and drink your way down Monster Ave & Gravenswood Ave (oops, Montrose Ave & Ravenswood Ave!), with 15+ stops at local businesses along the way to enchant and bewitch your senses.
You won’t want the night to end, and you’re in luck. The After Party will be at KOVAL Distillery (4241 N Ravenswood Ave) from 8-10pm, featuring a crowd-judged costume contest, tarot readings by The Storm’s Eye, a spooky KOVAL cocktail, and more.
Participating businesses include Artifact Events, Bad Luck Club, Bayan Ko Diner, Chicago’s Pizza, Farm Bar Ravenswood, Gnome Brew, Hidden Light Tattoo, Margie’s Candies, Paradise Port, Ponnopozz, Rojo Gusano, Slim’s, The Ravenswood Tavern, Wolcott Tap, and more TBA!

October 30: The Montrose Monster Mash
Do the Montrose Monster Mash! This is a family-friendly Halloween trick-or-treat that’s bound delight young neighbors! Join us for a fang-tastic evening of costumes, candy, and community! As the sun sets and the street lights come on, families are invited to stroll down Montrose Avenue in costume and enjoy Halloween fun. Local shops and restaurants will be handing out candy, offering special treats, and getting into the spirit of the season!

Chase Park After Dark Haunted House
Can you survive a walk in the park? Every year, the old theater at Chase Park transforms into a brand-new haunted house, never repeating the same theme twice. This local Halloween tradition returns this year as “Chuckles Sweet 16…A Party to Die For”.
Tickets are available every Fri-Sun during the month of October! This attraction is PG-13; no individuals under 13 will be admitted without parental advisory. Discretion is advised — it’s scary in there! More Info
