Jaime Gannon of The Jaime Elaine Creative is a Chicago-based, self-taught painter primarily creating floral pieces in acrylic and watercolor. Jaime loves to paint bright, colorful pieces that bring joy to your home and capture meaningful memories and moments. In this dark world around us, I try to do everything I can to bring in a bit of light. I paint primarily flowers because they remind me that beauty can come from dirt, that growth can happen in many ways and stages, that new life is all around us. Flowers remind me of my relationship to the earth, and the bright colors and movement that I enjoy capturing bring me joy, and I hope others find that too.
I love to paint wedding bouquets as well to remind me of commitment, connection, and love. My art journey came out of a tricky moment in time, for me as an individual, and for us as a collective (the start of the pandemic) and I believe my work parallels what I’ve found through that difficulty and pivot in my life, as well as how I want to connect with the world after and throughout such a challenging moment.
