Ostrich Moon jewelry is made using repurposed and vintage components, deconstructing and putting together pieces that were once long forgotten in a completely different and one of a kind design. In a world where everything can feel mass-produced and trending, creating pieces reusing unusual and unexpected material stands as symbol of embracing quality and individuality in a world that often pushes us to blend in. I design and create these pieces using a hand knotting technique, where each piece and bead is fitted into place by hand with red silk thread. Each of my pieces are made using semi-precious gemstone and glass beads, silk thread, antique charms, raw metal, found objects, and handmade pendants. The end result is a surprisingly versatile piece that tells the story of the person who wears it, as well as the story that is made up of each individual component. Being that the raw material is made primarily of antique and found objects, each piece is one of one, making each one truly as unique as the person who adorns it.
