Ivan Segarra has worked in the Chicago Public Schools for over 25 years. He has taught art to students from Pre-K to 8th for the last 8 years. Born and raised in Chicago, he is a self taught artist specializing in portraits, still life, and nature. A common technique used by Ivan is ink Gouache resist. This is when a gouache painting is washed in black India ink then removed to reveal the image underneath.
Ivan has displayed his art in various shows and exhibits throughout the Chicago area. He considers his work to be expressive in nature in the true nature of humanity is revealed in unique and transformative ways.
