I started working in clay serendipitously in 2013. After moving to Chicago in 2012 to pursue my photography practice and hating the teacher who taught the only photo class I took at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, I stumbled first into sculpture (wood was my first hands-on love), and then – cosmically – into clay.
My approach to making is simple: make beautiful, classic, and durable goods that are accessible, function-forward, and easy to use. I want to make the mug you reach for every morning or the vase that you can’t wait to fill with flowers every week. I make everything with my own two hands, so they can be used regularly and well-loved by yours.
