I’m a Chicago based artist who enjoys creating both fuctional & sculptural forms. What has always driven me towards ceramics is the direct connection it has to everyday life. I connect deeper with my work when I consider how I will incorporate it into my home. The main directive in my work is blurring the line that separates sculptural and functional forms. I mainly work with cone 6 reduction firings, but have dabbled in cone 10, raku, wood and pit firings. I have loved ceramics since I first dipped my fingers in it in junior high & I was fortunate enough to have a family that pushed me to pursue what I cared about . This gave me the courage to continue on my current path of improving my work and sharing it with my community! I also very much enjoy teaching these skills both while I ran the ceramics department at the Beverly Arts Center & currently, as I teach private lessons at a private studio.
