Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce welcomes a panel of state level elected officials to discuss the current climate of small business in Illinois. Participating officials include: State Treasurer Michael Frerichs, State Senator Heather Steans, State Representative Ann Williams & State Representative Greg Harris. Attendees will enjoy lunch catered by Vidalia Restaurant at Ravenwood’s Artifact Events.
Each month, the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce spotlights a different business from our neighborhood. This month we get to know Christin Rose, owner of Savvy Seconds and 1st’s on Lawrence Avenue.
From the hum of conversation in the restaurant, it was clear that the 1 hour allotted for small group discussion wouldn’t suffice. The women at each table were deeply engaged in dialogue around their stories – the similarities and differences in their professional experiences – across generations. Vibrant conversation – and delicious lunch – forges new relationships and opens up new ideas, which was precisely the thinking for the WLiB Committee in hosting this event. And this event did not disappoint.
Networking events can sometimes be awkward for humans, but dogs are naturals when it comes to making new friends. Let your pup do the ice-breaking at our January mixer: Where Bark Meets Business!
Spoken Café will be hosting Chef Chanel Gaudé for a dinner on December 17th. Gaudé, a recipient of a Women in Culinary Leadership Grant from the James Beard Foundation, is preparing for a 3 month Butchery Apprenticeship at Tenuta di Spannochia in Chiusdino, Italy.
